Hello.

It is nice, even I am into making crafty things these days, my friend's birthday is soon, and I need to do something to impress her, as I am an engineering student I get very less time. Last time I made his for her, http://mylivingthought.blogspot.com/2009/07/birthday-card-for-my-friend.html which was also my first attempt. Not that well, that is why I am searching blogs for ideas :) Take care and keep up the good work :)

Your card is very nice, Sanskar :)!!
I am just waiting on a paper cutter that Ii've ordered, and then I will be making some more!
Looking at other blogs has given me so many new ideas.

Thanks for the comment on my card :o) I'd be happy to stamp a few images for you to have a play about with if you like? You'd just need to let me know what you'll be colouring in with, so I know what ink & card would be best for you. Lisa x

To be honest, I don't know what I should be colouring in with! I have normal kind of crayons... What would you suggest to colour in with?

I use promarkers but they're quite expensive and you might be best starting out with something else... maybe watercolour pencils? I also used to use a cheap set of twinkly watercolour paints from The Works when I was starting out, think they were only a few pounds. If you're going the watercolour route I'd highly recommend a water brush - you just fill the barrell with water and it gives you an even flow through the brush. They should have them on Joanna Sheen's website with free postage if you can't find them locally. Waffle waffle waffle, sorry! Lisa x

I have some watercolours and watercolour pencils. Would the pencils be ok to use until I am more confident in using paints? I have not used them for a while now so will be a bit rusty!

Yes, whatever you find easiest - you can still use the water brush with your watercolour pencils. I was never good enough with paints, that's why I started using promarkers - they're like felt tips but artist quality. You can also get pencils (koh-i-noor or prismas) that you use blending stumps and oil to blend. They look fab and I keep meaning to try them. There's a good tutorial on them on the Elzybells site, they sell the koh-i-noors there. Lisa x
